Rear frame and suspension rust

I own a 2001 ford ranger edge 60k this is my 3rd ranger and will be my last i am a total gearhead and wash all my vehicles once a week top and underneath all of my vehicles live inside saw my truck leaning one day and crawled underneath found lr shackle assy completely rusted off and leaf pack up against the bed as i have found this is common and a very dangerous situation and ford could not care less took the bed off to repair damage and discovered that the rear bumper was about ready to fall off due to rust as an experiment i jumped onto the rear bumper and found myself sitting in the driveway with a sore butt i weigh 155# and knocked the bumper completely off had i been pulling something with the bumper hitch i would have lost trailer and bumper and possible injury to following vehicles this is a major safety issue that needs to be addressed by ford this is a much bigger deal than pinto gas tanks or burning brake light switches i have been an ase master tech for 30 years this is dangerous and will kill someone eventually these springs and holders keep the rear suspension in the truck the amount of lateral sway that will happen when these break will easily cause loss of control even to an experienced driver bought and welded in the repair kits checked out rest of rotted frame and put a for sale sign on it bought a toyota at least they stand behind their products ie tacoma frame rust complete buyback i figure that if i experience the neck snapping unintended acceleration i can always throw it into neutral or turn off the key bottom line do not follow a ranger too closely shame on you ford you have forever lost a long time customer and we wonder why tax money has to be spent to keep these companies afloat
