Ripoff refuses to help loyal consumers in financial struggles, calls and harrases people daily

I had been a customer of American Express for a little over a year when I had some financial troubles and could not pay my full balance off in one month.

I called them up THREE TIMES to try and work something out to keep them satisfied and they refused. After a while, they started to call my house multiple times a week and they also called my cell phone more than that. Their calls were very rude, harassing, and they continued to refuse to help me.

After about two months, I got a letter from them stating that my account had been closed, and they might refer me to a collection agency. Only two days after i get this letter, i start getting calls from a collection agency called Total Credit Recovery. The people who work for that company (not sure of actual location), make the American Express people seem nice and they threatened me horribly.

Things got better and I now have a zero balance with AmEx, but i will be sure that I NEVER have any dealings with them or their affiliates. They need to be a little more willing to work with their customers or they will end up out of business. The economy is not in the best shape right now and consumers aren't going to be spending they way that they have been. So they better watch out or they will end up out of business.

Besides, most AmEx cards are "pay in full" cards. Why bother with a card for that, isn't that why they have debit cards and that and cash are a lot easier than a charge card if you ask me!
