NCO Financial Systems ripoff! Do not fall for fradulent billing

A month ago I received a letter from NCO about my american express account being transferred to them for collection. I called nco right away and informed them that my account is under debt consolidation management. I was informed that American Express is no longer happy for the amount that debt management is paying them so they had to put it under collection. I then called debt management & they told me that american express did not put my account under colllection. Upon hearing this, I thought that the case was over, but I was wrong.

Yesterday, 12-05-03, I received a phone call from nco at work telling about the collection again. I told them exactly what I said when i first got the letter, that i was under debt consolidation. I asked when did american express received my last payment and the answer was: "when did you make the last payment?" I then told them that i send it every month. I was told that my debt management stopped paying amex. I asked them what's the amex account number and they provided me with the last 4 digits of my account which is totally different from my real account. They then asked me how would i settle this so i told them that i have to call my agency & if they couldn't do anything about it, i will pay them right away.

I then called debt consolidation and again was informed that my account is not under collection and the last 4 digits of my amex account given by nco is not the same with the account that i'm currently paying. To investigate further, i called american express and was informed that my account is not under collection. I then asked amex if they have a record of my account ending the 4 numbers nco gave me and it was confirmed that i do not have that kind of account. I called nco and the only thing they could tell me was: "if this is not your account, then it was a mistake".

I asked them how they came out with a fake account number and the answer i got was "when someone called you yesterday, and you did not know your account number, how come you were making arrangements, you could have said that's not your account number when we gave you the 4 numbers". These people called me at work, they expect me to have my account number with me? This is one of their scams again. Before dealing with them, investigate. I don't know why this company is still in business when there are so many usacomplaints.com filed against them.
