PNC Bank
Miserable excuse for a bank! - PNC Bank

Business & Finance

I am 70 years old and have maintained a perfect credit rating and have had few problems with numerous banks over the years, until RBC Bank was bought out by PNC, at which time the nightmare began. Because my address is California and I live part time out of the country, I attempted by phone to close my accounts carried over from the buyout.instead of closing the accounts as I had requested, and as phone agents assured me had been done, PNC insisted on keeping my accounts open or re-opening them, paying a few outstanding checks from RBC, even though I had purposely reduced balances to zero, and then sending me threatening letters. Unlike other banks, PNC cannot communicate by email, so anyone living outside of their area must rely on phone calls. I have been lied to and deceived by phone agents, some telling me my accounts are closed; others telling me, no they are not closed. Finally after months and months of trying to be finished with PNC, an agent told me I must request closure in writing to them. I urge everyone to stay as far away as possible from this miserable excuse for a bank!
