Harrassing Phone Calls about a debt that I didn't incu

This company started calling me about a week ago about a $4,000 debt from 1988 that they say has my SS#, so I'm responsible. I have tried to get some more info, but they can't give me any. They say I have to send them a request in writing, but won't give me a mailing address.

They can't tell me if it's a credit card or a car loan, but it's DEFINITLY one of the two. They won't send my any documentation from the original loan or even tell me the state that this "loan" originated from.

They are calling my parent's house and my own but have only my parent's address. When I refused to give my current address, they became abusive and hung up on me.

I decided to look them up on the internet via their phone number, but couldn't find them until I put it into Google and found this site. I want to bury them, so if anyone finds a way to stick it to them for all of the grief they've caused us all, let me know. This could have been my grandmother and she would have sent them the money.
