Ripoff Harrasment for alleged debt collection

I've been harrassed by CAMCO since 8 about an alleged debt that originated in 1995 from American General Finance. I have continually refused to pay this debt.in the meantime, I have made many unsuccessful attempts to find where this debt originated. I don't remember having any outstanding debt and I have pulled all my credit report from all 3 credit bureaus and can find no existance of this debt. I have called American Gen Fin and they said no such debt exist.

I have repeatedly asked CAMCO to disclose documention regarding this debt and they refused. They wouldn't even tell me it was a VISA debt until my last phone conversation on 7/9/04. Up until recently they said they were under no obligation to disclose what the debt was, just that I need to pay it. They constantly call my house and my mother's house.

I have no record of this supposed VISA and it is not on any of my old credit reports (ie before 1995) or on any of my new ones. They have threated to garnish my wages, place a derogatory mark on my record, and said because I'm not paying the debt, they will report this to the credit bureau. I am in the process of writing a cease and desist letter. How do I get this company to leave me alone and unattach my name to this debt? Please help.
