Tricked me to think opting out of a service would save me money

Got a letter in the the mail that i can opt out of overdraft protection and therefore not be charged overdraft fees so i did that, came time to pay my credit card bill so i gave the company my account number turns out there wasnt enough funds in the account, so you would think everything is fine bec i opted out of overdraft protection turns out instead of paying my bill and charging me an overdraft fee) which they didn't do because i opted out of it to avoid the fee), they charged me a non sufficiant fund fee of $35 4 times for a total of $140 because the credit card company tried again when it didn't go through the first, second or third time time
