Rip-off! I want a refund!

I signed up online to become a Readpay member. It was just some website where you read some advertisers emails and you'll get paid - yeah yeah yeah I'm probably stupid for believing it, but it seemed OK because they weren't promising some outrageous amount of money, they just said $2 per advertiser email read and then you get so much money per referral.

Well, in order to sign up, I was forced to pay money for this Stored Value MasterCard, which is how Readpay said they would pay us members for reading the advertiser emails. I paid about $60 for it. A couple of weeks later Readpay said that anyone who paid money for this Stored Value MasterCard would be refunded and not receive the card, for whatever reason - they decided not to have a partnership with MasterCard anymore or whatever.

So I wrote to the ONLY address that Readpay ever offered for if we needed to contact them (support@readpay.com), and asked about how we would be refunded - personal check, do they do anything through PayPal, would it be credited back to my credit card that I had used to purchase it, etc. Never heard back. I've to-date written over 15 emails to them over the past year and still have not heard back. Of course there is no other contact information whatsoever on their website or in their emails - no address, no phone number, no other email addresses, nothing.

I just kind of let everything go by the wayside figuring it was lost money forever, fine, lesson learned, then all of a sudden I get an email today from them asking people to purchase this SAME stupid Stored Value MasterCard! They claim they are merging with another company and have to pay everyone their current balances. What the heck is going on?!

Since I don't have documentation of my sent emails (I do have documentation of what I paid for the Stored Value MasterCard, though, since I paid for it with one of my credit cards), I don't expect that this will every get resolved, but I just wanted to warn others that this company is such a scam. I mean I paid for this Stored Value MasterCard that they could have at least let me receive if they weren't going to refund my money - but I didn't even get that!
