Xbox Live Account Suspended and Asked to Change Payment Option

I was going to get on my account to play on xbox live and it said it was suspended. It said that I had to change my payment option but my dad's credit card works just fine. Is it if you buy a prepaid card, you can't play because you didn't buy it with the credit card? My grandmother bought me a year on xbox live and now I think that she should get her money back!
