United Financial Network
Stevan Wells This company promised me one thing and delivered a totally different product. A total deception and misrepresentation of what I was told I would be getting and refuses to do anything about it

Business & Finance

I received a fax from U. Financial, James Thorne, phone number 310-807-3776 saying " WE have clients in need of homeowners insurance and/or life insurance. Please call me if you can help."

I called and they referred me to a Mr. Stevan Wells who explained to me that they were a national mortgage outlet and in the process of closing loans around the country that generated leads for the above mentioned insurance needs.

I said that I was interested in getting some life insurance leads generated from mortgage closings and he assured me that would be the way they were generated.in the closing process (Maybe with some prompting form the person handeling the closing) the client would express the desire for someone to contact them regarding life inurance protection to cover thier mortgage if they died prior to the mortgage being paid.

We agreed on a price of $450 for 25 leads per month and he did a search and determined that the closest area to me that would be capable of producing that many leads per month would be Garland County Arkansas which is the Hot Springs Arkansas area.

I wrote them a check for the agreed upon price and after the check cleared my bank they began to send me leads. As I called these leads I realized that they were not what was promised. Not one of them said they were generated during and/or had anything to do with a mortgage transaction.

As I called more I discovered that they were very old leads. Some being more than two months since they had requested information about life insurance and they were all generated over the internet in some fashion but not by a mortgage closing. All that I was able to contact said they had already purchased or made another decision long before I contacted them.

The only reason I agreed to this purchase was because of the information Stevan Wells gave me regarding the source of these leads. He decieved me and I don't think it is right for a company or employee of a company to entice someone into a transaction by misrepresenting what the receiving party is expecting to receive.

I have called seveal times and left messages for Stevan Wells to call me and to this date he has not. I have talked to Carol Rosen several times and explained to her what happened. Her reply to my explanation of wnat I was expecting from my conversation with Stevan Wells was that I shouldn't put too much faith in what sales people say in a sales presentation as they tend to exaggerate.

Carol did agree to start my campaign over and try to get me a better quality lead. She said that she was setting up a verification system where they could verfy the new leads that I would be getting but did not have mortgage leads as Stevan Wells had promised. I expessed my dissatisfaction but she said that she could not do anything else and did not offer to refund my money but agreed that she could not supply what I was told I woud be getting by Stevan Wells.

The new leads that Carol started to send me are no different from the previous leads and since I can't tell the difference I really don't think she has verified any of them as she told me she would or would have someone do.

My last conversation with Carol was totally frustrating as she refuses to provide what I was promised and will not offer a refund. She simply states that I am getting what was agreed to by contract and in the product description part of the contract it doesn't say how the leads will be generated.

Should I have required the source of the leads to be listed in the contract? I will next time because if they had provided the leads as promised from mortgage closings they would be much higher quality leads.

Also, should one expect to get what was explained they would be getting? The answer is yes if you are dealing with reputable people. So my conclusion is: This is not a reputable company. You will have to draw you own conclusion but I don't recommend anyone to do business with United Financial Network and expect to get what they were told they would get.
