Juniper will hold payment and charge a late fee

I have been a customer of Juniper MasterCard for severalyears and have never been late on a payment. I have always paid my account in full, or substantiallyover the minimum payment required. I repeatedly receive offers from Juniper (AKABarclaycard) to take advantages of pre-printed checks offering low APR. Today Ireceived a letter from their card services department stating that: Due to arecent late payment, we are increasing the interest rates on your account. Iuse their card only because it offers a reasonable interest rate of 8.99%. Theyare now increasing my interest rate to 30.24%. After attempting to contact theircustomer service agent (locate somewhere in India or Philippines) the agentstated that my payment was not received by the due date of 4/14, that iswas received on 4/15. I verified that they actually received my payment on4/14 however did not process it until 4/15 (it cleared my bank on 4/14). When Irequested to speak with a supervisor or manager, I was told there was not oneavailable and I could leave my name and number for a supervisor to contact mewith 72 hours???
Obviously this company does not care about retaining goodcredit customers (which my credit score is 790) and treats you like an insignificantcog in their great big machine. This practice is not only unacceptable but Iwould speculate on the border line of being unlawful. How can a company holdpayment for 1 day, and then have the audacity to charge a customer almost 4times the original interest rate. Theymarket cards for many airlines as: Airtran, US Airways, Midwest Express, Frontier, Carnival Cruise Lines, China Airlines, Lufthansa, and many more. From what Ihave read their air miles rewards are misleading and untruthful. This Companyis a scam and rip off. I will close thisaccount and never do business or promote their services to anyone. I will also research every legal avenue toexpose their practices to the Attorney Generals Office of PA, as well as theBBB. If you have their card, do yourself a favor and cut it up. This Company ismisleading, fraudulent and a sham.
