Cancel of credit card used for overdraft protection

I'd a mastercard account for more than 30 years which was tied in with my bank account for overdraft protection. Bofa terminated this card without my understanding. On 1/14 they cashed a check that didn't have the money to address. Bofa billed me $35.00 facility fees. On 1/22 they charged me another $35.00 expanded facility fee. A complete of $70.00 continues to be taken from me. That is illegal as had they not cancelled my card overdraft protection might have occurred in a reduced charge. Exactly why is bofa permitted to cash checks that not have the required resources subsequently charge for doing this
