Double deduction on a purchase of a cashier's check. The check was for $684.00 and they debited twice. They were going to let me leave the bank like this

I walked into my local branch, where I have been banking for years, to purchase a cashiers check. When the transaction was complete, I asked the teller what the balance was in my checking account. My account was almost completely diminished of it's funds. The teller insisted there was no mistake. After continuous arguments from me on this, they finally found that the account was debited twice. If I had not of asked my balance, the error would have never been found.
