Ripoff, damaged our personal credit, lied, unprofessionel, harrassed and discourtious

My husband and I had a CCB credit card we paid on time until November 1999.in December I had called to get a payment arrangement and the customer service rep had no problem in doing this so at that time that is what I did. Little to my knowledge they do not document from one month to the next what they say so when i got my next month's statement I received a late charge and over the limit fee. So I called and told them that the month before we had worked out and arrangement — so on and so onthis went on for over a year I kept paying my bill every month. Until I figured out that without all these late charges and over the limit fees my bill was paid off and they owed me approximately $150.00.

BUT DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING - they say we owe them over $1400.00. The crdit card had only a $400.00 limit and was secured with $200.00 of my cash at first. When I was late on ot in December of 1999 I was only $50.00 over the limit and I paid $150.00 on the card. I continued paying on time.

Now I have written to my banking commissioner, my attorney general and my state rep but because
1. Cross country bank is a national bank the banking commissioner cannot help me.
2. They will not cooperate with the attorney general.
3. My state rep told me to go to the Department of the OCC (you can look them up on line).
4. Also they are apart of a class action law suit because of doing this to so many people but you still have to be a card holder so they can reimburse you the false charges they put on your card, how asssinine is that. Who would want to still hold their card.

Anyways bottom line where I am at right now is you can call the FDIC at 1-800-934-3342 at least in Connecticut and they will direct you on what to due. They are well aware of CROSS COUNTRY BANK. I am still awaiting my letter. But I guess the more letters we get into the FDIC maybe we can put them out of business.
