Cross Country Bank
Ripoff lowered my credit limit and has been charging me over the limit fees since

Business & Finance

I have been a customer of Cross Country Bank for 5 years now. They started me off with a average credit line and increased it 2 different times. Unfortuantly a few years later I had to go through consumer credit conceling program.

During this process Cross Country continued to call me and also lowered my credit limit because of my credit scoring. I was fine with all of that except I was maxed out on that card and when they lowered my limit they started to charge me overlimit fees. 29.00 each time. I have called them on numerous occasions and have been passed around, put on hold for 30-40 minutes, or "accidently disconnected".

I have been paying well over the minumum due through my consolidation program, but when they are charging me overlimit fees every month I can never catch up. I have been paying these fees for 3 years now and am very upset that I can get no where with them. I have calculated that I have paid them $1045.00 in fees for all this time.

I wrote them a letter in December and received a letter back saying the fees were properly assessed. It was not my choice for them to lower my credit limit, and I should not be penalized for it.
