Wanted to charge me to cash their own $10 check for $6? Leaves me with $4!

Today I went to cash a $10 check (Bank of America check) I came there they wanted to charge me $6.00 to cash it because I didnt have an account with them! Thats ridicoulus! That would only leave me with $4.00
This is just very crazy. If they things are going so bad with them why rip off people to make your ends met??? It would make more sense if they charged a percentage per different amount levels. But this was just crazy, I was gonna start crying, I wanted to get lunch for the $10.00 but come to find out only get $4... Sad
