Rip-off took $299 & moved away but it's not over

Business & Finance

I'd like to offer some info as of today on the status of Freeline Fidelity as well as my expereince...

My husband was contacted by a telemarketer with the offer of an unsecured mastercard with a credit limit of $3000.00 dollars. Later, $299 was taken out of our checking account. I was never aware of the offer that he accepted until saw the debit on our bank statement.

When I called my bank to find out who had the nerve to debit such an amount and for what. I was given a 1-800 number to another bank, United Capturdyne Technologies, Inc., so I called them. I was transferred to a representative who asked me for the name of the company that I was requesting a telephone number for. I told them Freeline Fidelity and they gave me the wack 1-866 number.

I called it and sat on hold for at least 45 minutes. Once I got a hold of someone I immediately requested a refund. The male rep told me that to get a refund I needed to send them back the package that we had not yet recieved and to expect my refund within 30 days after that.

Weeks later, we received a package in the mail but no unsecured credit card. What they sent was a "merchant card" with a application for a line of credit, a product catalog, some other offers, and and application for a mastercard and visa debit card. I sent it back and called to find out if they'd recieved it.

Finally, they admitted to having recieved it and told me that I would be refunded my money on the 15th of January. When I didnt recieve it, I called them back and they told me that it had only been processed on the 15th but I will recieve it between the 27th and 31st of January.

Here it is the 31st and come to find out (through United Capturdyne) that these fly by night bastards are in "liquidation" meaning they have closed up shop and moved leaving no contact information whatsoever. As for their buddies, United Capturdyne Technologies Inc., they have filed bakrupt already due to all of their previous fradulent merchants and will only be answering their phone (1-800-476-4828 if you believe in miracles) for a few weeks longer. And yes, they are also not in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

My bank can't do anything about it because its past 60 days; however, I dont have multiple sets of $299 tucked away in my home like easter eggs but consider that Freeline Fidelity probably does by now have at least 1000 sets. Damnit that equals $299,000.00 of free money at our expense.

I would advise all who read this and have had similar experiences to take action and file formal complaints with the FTC (Federal Trade Commision). If enough complaints are made (I have certainly seen "enough" between this site, the Better Business Bureau site, and the Florida State Attorney General) then perhaps action can be taken because thats what the FTC does.

THEY ARE ACTION TAKERS! This is their website http://www.ftc. Gov / and remember that there is power in numbers.
