Son's First Account Charged 10 Overdraft Fees After Balance Check

My Son got his first job & opened his first bank account. Unfortunately he chose Wachovia. He checked his balance at his branch before he went out shopping & went to lunch. Somehow even though the bank said he had enough money to buy the things he did he got 10 overdraft fees. I called to ask why his card was not denied. They told me several different inconsistent stories. I am furious that they are trying to take advantage of my honest & hard working Son. He said he wants to join the class action law suite.
