Foreclosure Started After Lender Refused One Late Payment

We were just one month behind on a house we have lived in for 11 years with no problem. We then went to pay the payment with late charges included for the month we were behind. Let me say this was just one payment we were behind, not two or three. When we went to pay, they would not accept it, and now they wanted two payments instead, the second one being a payment that was not late yet.

And now they are foreclosing on our house because we were one payment late and they wouldn't accept the payment when we tried to pay it. I even tried to pay it via the automated system, and it would not accept it. The letter said that even if we sent the payment, they would still foreclose anyway.

What kind of people or company is this to foreclose on a house only one month behind, and then, when you try to make the payment, they won't accept it and demand another month that wasn't even late yet? So we are losing our house of 11 years that we tried to pay for, but they wouldn't accept it.

I think that this stinks, and something needs to be done about these kinds of practices.
