Overdraft Charge Outrage

I am a client of Bank of america in Hutchinson Kansas. I opened this account in march. I overdrafted my account 1 time in the past 3 monthes and the bank charged me a sum of $128 for the transaction, afterwards this month may In an attempt to prevent overdraft I purposefully checked my account balance at a nearby ATM Teller before making any transactions, and it showed that I had $150 in the checking account, so I made several small transactions on the account, $0.99 for one purchase $1.50 for another and so on. Apparently there were 8 transactions in the same day which each added a fee of 35 Dollars to the account, and Unbeknownst to me I allowed my Direct deposit to go through into the account, and $198 was taken out of my accountto cover their fees. I explained to them that they should take off these fees because they would render me homeless if they did not. They refused to comply. I earn my money and work very hard for it, and do not believe that I should have been charged these fees, or should have had these fees waived. I need my entire check to pay my rent. I tryed to explain this to the bank and they would not cooperate at all. ALL CONSUMERS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED against opening accounts with Bank of America (Nations Bank S.W.) I brought my account down to $57.00 to cover pending transactions, but the bank would not allow me to close my account without a substantial fee, so it remains open. I have destroyed my checking card also.
