I was ripped off, I asked them to stop and they still debited my account 3 more times! Does Not Appear internet

I've been in the hospital and my wife told me that someone was debiting the account, at first I couldn't remember anything relevant and then it hit me that I had checked into getting an on line loan and thats the only thing that I had done, but the application had asked for my account # and said it would be safe only for verification, I was never told that there was a charge for this service they just said they would line up a lot of potential lenders. Next thing is a lot of offers but nothing relevant that you couldn't get yourself! Then the debits started and it took a lot of time even for the bank to find out who was doing this, my wife e-mailed and asked them to stop, but to no avail they continued to do it 3 more times creating a large expense because I was being charged for overdrafts each time, my bank finally got a phone # we called and they told us to use the web to resolve any problems never talked to a live person at all, this should be illegal as no one told me of a charge, and if the first one was returned shouldn't they have at least called to see what the problem was? I'm on a set income and this has created a bigger deficit than I was trying to resolve! I will never use the web again for any service because it's unsafe and crooks like this are getting rich doing people out of there money by not being forthcoming with the whole truth about there services and charges and there getting away with it.
