Vanderbilt Mortgage didn't even have the title to the house! Tennessee

Two and a half months ago, I found a manufactured home in the city my husband and me would be relocating to for his job. The girls who had the house were just trying to get someone to take over the loan, as their mother had died, and they could not afford to keep it.

My parents being more financially stable than my husband and I decided that they would take over the loan, and that my family could live there and it would be an investment for them down the road.

So, at first Vanderbilt called us back, and was all chipper. Well, then when the loan approval was being processed they would not return our calls. We waited, and waited. Finally they called and said that payments were due, so my parent's made two months worth of payments on the loan. And Vanderbilt told them that the packet of paperwork for them to sign to make it all final was "in the mail". But, it never came. So, finally my dad started calling them two weeks ago, and never got a phone call back.

Today I finally got through to them, and the lady tells me that Vanderbilt had taken over that loan from Chase, and that they don't even have the title for the house!!! She says, that's why we didn't send out the packet. But as soon as we get that, we will... And she wanted to hang up on me! I was like, lady, that is fine and dandy, but we are moving into that house next week, and working on it, and we feel real dumb doing that when we don't even have anything legal saying we own it! And I asked her who was in charge of getting the title, and what needed to be done for that to happen, and she tells me that one of the daughters needs to sign some paperwork so that they can request the title... So I told her they needed to call that daughter, and fax her that paperwork TODAY. And the lady says, we are working on it..

WORKING ON IT??? Evidentally they have had that loan from chase for years now, and have not gotten the title... So what is their great plan of action now???

My parents were thinking of just paying off the full loan last month... What would Vanderbilt be telling them had they done that??? Oh, you just paid us $23,000 just be patient till we can get that Title for you???

UHHHH! Count us in on any lawsuits happening!
