I have a debt that I owe from my WAMU credit card. My remainding balance was $3000. It was sold to Arrow Financial to collect payment from me, but on March 3, I received a rude phone call at work from a lady at NES literally telling me that I need to make a payment today or she will contact my employer and have me summons me to court, which would tack on $1600 to my current debt. So I politely told her that it was a busy Monday morning in the office and I had just arrived, and to give me her number so that I can call her back later to discuss the particulars and possibly set up some type of payment arrangement (installments). She snapped and said "we don't take partial payments, you have to pay in full today!" I then asked her how long had they (NES) been handling my account because I had not received anything regarding them or this account. She said my account was just sent to them "yesterday" so I probably wouldn't have anything yet in the mail. I said well I will feel more comfortable discussing this matter after I've received some type of literature with confirmation of your collection attempts. That pissed her off a bit, and said that I didn't have that much time and that I had 2 hours to calll her back before she proceeded with legal action.

It has been exactly a week from today, and we have basically played phone tag, and more importantly... I have not received anything in the mail. I am absolutely not comfortable with making any type of payment via phone to them without any type of information to back it. Anyone who would is an idiot.

So I called Arrow Financial and asked them about the validity of their attempts and he did in fact say they have a 3rd party company handling the collection attempt, but he also said..."you definitely should have received something from them by now... Not from us." He also said they should also send me something if I request it, but they get angry at that request. She actualy asked me, "What do you need something sent to you when I am telling you all the details right now?" I was flabbergasted.

So needless to say, I am a bit skeptical of their attempts, and now after reading other reports on them, and seeing that I am not the only one being told this and being neglected of any mailing notices... I'm not sure what to do. But they call me ALLLL day long.
