Scumbags stubbornly ignoring validating my debt

I got a letter from Midland back in mid December, and I responded right away roughly about 3 days later with a request for validation. I haven't gotten any response, and it's slighltly over a month, but they have gone ahead and posted the item on my credit report. I do have evidence that they received the letter because it was a signature certified letter. Using the tracking tool, I have the time and date plus the name of the person, who signed for it. I am somehow good on dealing with people, who like to be negligent and dirty. However, I have never sue before, but I need to know how I should go about suing in the small claims court. I have learnt about this company, and their ability to do anything to get anything. Please provide me the information, and I will update you as to how this has gone. I live in Texas.
