Reporting disputed item on credit without debt validation, will not give midland info, hung up, wont identify who they are

We received a notice from bursey assoc saying they were debt collectors collecting a debt for midland credit inc. We sent a dispute letter asking for debt validation to bursey and assoc. Via certified mail. We see that midland recently (within 7 days) started to report this on our credit despite the fact that we have not received any debt validation. We thought this was illegal? We called Bursey and Assoc. And spoke with someone in Tucson office who would only identify himself as "matt" and told him of situation he stated they "are not debt collectors" and did not put it on our credit report, I asked how to resolve the issue to which he replied we needed to contact credit reporting agencies, we said we had sent dispute to them bursey assoc. Certified mail and received conformation that they received and signed for it and had not been sent proof of validation yet it was still on our credit report which was illegal "he asked "which law is being broken" to which we responded the federal fair collections act that staes a diputed item cannot be reported on without validation" he laughed and said they only represent midland in their legal endeavors and we have to contact midland, we then asked for midlands info and he stated " we do not give out client information" I asked if I could speak with someone else and he said no, I asked if they represnt midland and had sent the collection form and signed for the certified mail how is it that they have nothing to do with this?" He responded with "you called us" to which we said yes because we want this off our credit report immediately and have sent dispute with request for validation" he hung up on me.

We are in process of closing on a home, we will not be able to be underwritten because they are causing our credit score to drop so low, we will lose escrow assesors etc monies we paid. We need advice on what we can do. Their illegal posting of our disputed credit report (which they put on credit (within past 7 days) is going to cost us our new home. What can we do!
