Taking money that does not belong to them

My mother had an account with them. And last year they took over 900.00 from her bank account, that there was enough to pay off what she owed. Well now they have her bank account froze. She can't close it or even touch it. My mother is on Social Security that is the only income coming in and they are taking that from her. Is there anything that we can do about this? I think that credit card companys can do what ever they want. Please if you have any idea on what to do Please help. Thank You Sandy
