Ripoff FAKE MONEY

I just want to say the day i went to commerce bank to cash a loan check that i had just recieved i was humiliated. I went to this bank because it was close and it was the bank that the check was drawn off of.

It was my sons 5th birthday and we were having a big party for him. After cashing the check i stopped off at the store for a few last minute items and after noticing that the self check out scanner was not taking my 20 dollar bills (any of them) i preceeded to ask the checkout girl if the bills looked real.

Well she told me no they did not and then informed me that they were in fact counterfit. She asked me had i gotten them out of the machine and i told her that i had just gotten them from the bank. She told me that i should take them back and let them know.

I called the bank on my way back up there and spoke to the bank manager and she asked me to bring them back and she would take care of it. Well when i arrived it was a diffrent story i was accused of trying to pass counterfit money (which i have never done) and when i became angry the police was called. Need less to say i could have went to jail on my sons birthday but the police believed me and even told the bank manager that she should give me back my money. Her response was that i should have looked at the money before i left the teller window. But as the police officer said who looks at their money before leaving the teller window like we have a black or brown markers. Like he told her that is your job.

They even said that if i decided to take it to court that they would testify for me. I have heard of this happening to other people, and a lawyer even told me that this sort of thing happens all the time and it was nothing that i could do. But i think something should be able to be done about these banks that do these types of things. I work hard for my money and i dont think that this sort of thing is fair.
