Makes a mistake and put blame on custome

I received a check in the mail for $3345.00 from Time Warrner Tele Com out of Denver, CO. (TWTC banks with Wells Fargo) The check was made out to me and it said I had won here is my prize money. I thought all the internet contests I entered had finally paid off. So I took the check to wells fargo bank (my bank as well as TWTC) I asked the bank teller to please make sure this was a good check not stolen, fake or some kind of scam. As Iwas standing there the bank teller told me everything looks good. I asked her when would it clear the companys account? The bank teller told me to wait till the next day and if its posted to my account then the check had cleared the other accout. I went back to the bank the next day as asked the bank tell if the check in the amount of 3345.00 had cleared TWTC bank account? The bank teller told me yes. I asked if I could withdrawl 3100.00 of that money. He told me yes. I asked him again if there was any way for that check to come back on me. He told me no it was safe to spend the money. Well I thought my christmas was going to be GREAT!!! Wrong!!! 5 days later that check came back and Now my Christmas has vanished! My bank account now sits -3000.00 all my food money, christmas money, bill money ect... GONE! Wells Fargo tells me its not there problem it my and I need to pay it before they press charges on me. I made a police report the cop even said it sounds like the bank messed up. I feel the same way. What do you think?
