Castle Point Mortgage - Michale Obesso -Cara Stevens ripoff Fannie Mae loan and appraisal fee ripoff

Mr. Michael Obesso from Castle Point Mortgage Company in Parsippany N.J. Assured me I would have Fannie Mae loan in mid May.

Appraiser was sent to my home to check on structure of my home. Paid her a fee of $350 with a personal check dated on April 24.

THREE days afterward, I CONTACTED Castle Point by phone for a loan update and was told that the appraiser felt I needed to carpet the home for $3,000.00.

This is an opinion based on cosmetics—not a structural problem. My square footage is 795.

Underneath, the carpet PIECE is terazzo floor. I offered to roll up that carpet piece and underneath it is a terazzo floor.

I was then told by Micahel Obesso that I can still get a loan but it would cost MORE. Michael said he would contact the appraiser again? For more specifics. And, that he would also contact the underwriters again and get back to me on Friday, May 12.

He did not contact me. I called and left phone message. No reply or response from Michael Obesso.

Saturday, May 13 I send 3 email messages stating the square footage of the house and that they need to let me know on Monday, May 15 what is going to be with regards to the loan. And, if I am being denied I want that denial in WRITING. Also, that I request reimbursement of $350.

No one from Castle Point contacted me on Monday. I called there but all loan processors were busy. So, I spoke to no one from Castle Point on May 15. And, I received no email correspondence, either.

Now, I am left with having to put my home up for sale and or going into foreclosure. I told this to Michael Obesso the last time we talked on May 11.

Another, Castle Point associate involved with my [said] loan is Cara Stevens. During this process she has left me phone messages and email. I always dealt with Michael Obesso first and any of the many requested items I had to send thru fax to Castle Point I included Cara Stevens. When I did have a question and sent email to Cara Stevens she never replied.

They have left me hanging. Unprofessional. Misleading and deceptive. Without a timely reimbursement this is definitely fraudulent activity.
