Castle Point Mortgage
Ripoff, Took money from my account for an appraisal that was never done!

I originally applied for a mortgage throuhg Lending Tree and came back with several offers. The best offer was with Castle Point Mortgage. They gave me a call and the mortgage process was up and running. I was very anxious to get the mortgage going and since I knew how the process goes and how long it takes.

I agreed to give my bank account information over the phone for them to take out the appraisal charge to make things go quicker. From the time I applied for the mortgageand the time they took the money out was no more than 5 days.

In that time, I got an offer to go work with a bank in Jacksonville, so I listed my house for sale and canceled the mortgage. The appraisal had never been finished, in fact, I called the appraiser and it had never been started.

I have yet to see the refund for the money paid towards an appraisal. I have contacted Chad, my loan officer, and his boss on many occasions. No call backs as of yet.

It is my fault for giving them my bank account info over the phone, but I am in the mortgage business, so I know how common that is. All I want is my $300.00 back in my account.
