Ripoff 30% Interest Rates

I closed my account one year ago. Since then, I've had three late payments (1 day late) because they moved the due date back and forth. When I called to ask how long I would be paying 29.74% interest (!!!) the rep said there was nothing she could do because the account is closed. So they can RAISE your interest rate on a closed account, but they can't lower it? I've been a an American Express card holder since 1990. Not anymore.
