Ripoff continuous overdraft fees after account is closed

When I opened an account with National City I was told that it would be easier, being that I was in college, to have a $25.00 amount withdrawn from my checking account and deposited in my savings account every month. No big deal right. A couple months went by and as always when your young I was having money problems. I phoned National City to inform them that I would not have the amount in my checking account and to please not take it out that month.

I went out of town for awhile and come back to bounced checks and overdraft fees. So, I went into the bank. They said that they couldn't do anything about it, the withdrawl is computerized. I explained that I would not have bounced any checks had the not withdrew what I had ask them not to in the first place. I close the account that day and said I pay the balance off when I could. What else could I do.

A couple months went by and I had put 70.00 on the account to help pay it off. When I recieved another bill stating that I now owed over 400.00 I was furious. After spending hours on the phone with a very unhelpful costumer service, getting bounce around from person to person. I gave up and went into the bank to talk to the manager. She said that there was no way I could have closed my account because I had a negitive balance. When the funny part is I still have a negitive balance and my account is closed now. How does that work?

Don't use National City Bank they will skrew up your account, then when they tell you your account is closed slam you with continuous fees and overdraft charges. Their mistake cost me over 500.00.
