I signed up for "3 Credit Reports Free Score ID Theft Insurance... Just $24.95 instantly online!"
Gave them a credit card number.instantly got the reports. Next day I got the email that my card was billed $34.90 so I called them. They pointed out a tiny checkbox down the screen that looks like it's part of a different offer. It is checked by default and they claim, it allowed them to charge me an additional $9.95 for redundant scores which I don't need. They said that if I hadn't gotten the report yet they could refund the ripped of money but... Duh, the report is instant, the billing email is not. There was no total shown while I was applying for the service. Now we call VISA. Hope some of you out there benefit from this experience.
