Ripoff on finance charges and negative reporting

I emailed and contacted Emerge via telephone to payoff a debt in full and was ignored by unanswered emails and disconnections on the phone each time I placed a call to complete the payoff process.

I then went and made a payment online. Several days later I made a second payment online to payoff the debt and tried to modify the payment to cure all as I entered the balance in error. I tried to contact someone to make the change and prevent the posting of the scheduled paymentg amount and could not get anyone to help me or get the issued resolved.

Finally when I was able to contact someone to complain and resolve my issue, they advised that my payment could not be modified and that they could not accept another payment until well after the due date and that the payments needed to be 7 days apart. They explained that Finance charges would accrue since the payment was not made prior to the due date, which is what I was trying to due with no success. I was told to call back after the due date when payments could be accepted to find out my new balance which they also indicates that finance charges were on a daily basis not per billing cycle.

Bottom line they made sure I was delayed in paying off my debt in full to accrue further finance charges. They also closed my account without my knowledge because they purchase the loan from another horrible credit card Company FLEET Card who purchased from First North American National Bank a/k/a FNANB deeming that they did not feel I met their credit worthiness. And reported my card as charged off! To the 3 major credit reporting agencies.
