Capitol One
Still charges fees after account is requested closed!

I paid off my Capitol One card on April 12 and in the mail today I received a statement that I owe $16.00. Ten dollars for paying the card off and a $6.00 membership fee. When I called them, they couldn't tell me why the fees were accessed. If I don't pay the $16.00 by the due date, they will add a late charge to the account. Can anybody tell me if Capitol One can do this? Especially after the account was requested to be closed?
