Ripoff, deceptive, and dishonest billing and business practices

I had been a loyal citibank customer for over 10 years. I hadn't used my citibank mastercard for over two years and since I had gotten married and my husband already had another citibank account, I called citibank to close my account.

But after speaking in length to a very nice, hard-working, citibank customer service rep, he convinced me to keep my account and told me that they would stop sending me the checks in my monthly statement which I was concerned someone could get ahold of and charge to my account.

Well lo and behold about two months later I get a charge on my account from Match.com. Keep in mind my card was never out of my possession so I called up Citibank and cancelled my account immediately. They sent me a form to fill out for fradulent charges which included getting the form signed by a notary republic.

The time, money and hassle it would have taken me to get a notary to sign the form wasn't worth it.in the meantime I also incurred a late fee on an account I never wanted in the first place. That got my blood boiling, so I called Citibank and spoke to Kristen a so-called "manager" who refused to give me her last name. She said that they weren't allowed to. I told her that was another poor business practice.

Now I understand how Citibank scams money out of the little guys by manipulation and creating red tape so think consumers get discouraged. Thank you for reading.
