Ameriquest Ripoff Intent to Defraud

We received a phone call from an Ameriquest representative about re-financing our mortgage. After a little over a month of finalizing all the details and information they required, we asked for a cash out to us of over $12,000 to pay off other bills, etc. We signed the papers and were assured everything was in order. Much to our surprise, Ameriquest said we were not going to get our $12,000 as the "final payoff from the former mortgage company" was going to need all of it. What did we get out of over $12 Grand? $1,000.By the time we received this news, our 7 days right to recision had expired. We have been battling them ever since. They also tacked on over $4,000 in homeowners insurance, though they had proof of insurance from our insurance agent.

We missed a couple of payments and tried to later send in to catch up but they said it went to a law office for foreclosure. So here we sit, paying big legal fees, we're out mega bucks and Ameriquest is getting by with this stuff.

I am working with an attorney to right the wrongs, and I would appreciate statements from other consumers that I could use as proof of how corrupt this company is and possibly look at a large lawsuit. If you would be willing to help, I would very much appreciate hearing from you immediately.
