Upfront Fees Misleading - direct tv hdtv box

I have been a Direct TV customer for several years now. I paid an up front fee for one of my receivers under the guise that this was now my equipment. When I went to cancel my service today, I found out that it's considered a 'leased' receiver that I basically paid the lease fee up front for, and that if I don't send it back to them, It will cost me $250. What a rip off. I have always liked the service I received from them, but I don't lik feeling cheated and you can be sure when I pick a new home, they won't be on the list of companies I consider getting service with ever again.
