I called Verizon to get Fios along with internet and phone and a cheaper rate per a flyer I received and my son has and really likes the quality of picture, interent, & phone. I called Verizon and FIOS was not in our area. Verizon offered Direct TV/Verizon a triple bundle package. The price quoted was $109. Plus tax. Verizon mailed me modem to hook up internet, changed my phone service to Verizon and made arrangements to hook up Direct TV. Direct TV had to cancel appointment and reschedule due to no equipment. Just like their show on TV. Direct Tv came twice in 1 day to get the TV's to work. Tech had me sign a lease agreement and then left. After 18 days of service, we hated Direct TV. The picture would constantly freeze. Neighbors and friends kept saying that is what they are known for. So I called Verizon where I got the triple package and they told me I had 30 days to cancel. My husband and I discussed and the next day we called Verizon to cancel the package. Verizon also cancelled with Direct TV. I called Verizon back to find out how to handle returning equipment, They told me how to handle modem return but said it would be best to call Direct TV on how to return equipment. I called Direct TV they told me how to handle and also told me I would have to pay a cancel fee of $487.00 for 18 days of service based on lease equipment contract. Direct TV does not have a cancel policy. If they hook up Direct TV, you are stuck no matter how unhappy you are with the service. The day the tech hooked up Direct TV I had to turn around and say I am not satisfied before even seeing how the service was and cancel right then. Makes alot of since doesn't it. I have dealt with Verizon since that is who I took the package with and that is where my first bill came from, and they don't care even though they sold me the package and Direct TV doesn't care either. Also the first bill was $175 I was only expecting $109 plus tax and a one time interent fee of $20. Direct TV had many more charges for equipments. So for 18 days of service I am asked to pay $175 plus $487. If this isn't taking advantgage of the consumer I don't know what else will. I never even talked to Direct TV until I called about returning equipment but now Verizon is saying I have to deal with Direct TV. Please help me!!!
