I was trying to lower my monthly bills. I had cable and internet for $80.
I found this ad for direct. Tv for a monthly bill of $29.99. I went online and read up on it. Sounded like a good deal. The guy came out on Christmas eve and did the install. I get the bill and it's for $69.75. I call and they say I have to go online and do the rebates which will bring me down to $53... (me) what about the $29.99... (them) oh that's the other package (me) but that's the package I wanted (them) but we gave you an HD/DVR receiver so that's the package you have... (me) that's too much, I did this to save money, please drop me down to the $29.99 as requested... (them) we can't do that because you have the receiver you have that plan for 2 years... (me) 2 years??? (them) yeah, it was in the fine print (me) so cancel my service (them) sure that will cost $460 - also in fine print.

A company has the capability to automatically lower your rate and give the rebates monthly without the customers jumping through hoops to go online to another site and activating or having to call to get the rebate. If you're offering your new customers a deal, then give them a deal, don't make them jump through hoops to get it.

OK, I've had this service less than 2 weeks. They installed Christmas eve and they told me I would have to cancel within 24 hours... When you don't receive the "real" bill for weeks.

Do not get this, they are deceptive and crazy expensive. Comcast was better than this and much more customer friendly.

I asked the customer service guy what happens to people who lose their jobs and need to cancel their monthly service and he said they would have to pay the $460 cancellation fee. Unbelieveable.

I so regret doing this. If anyone has advice on how I can legally get out of this, please let me know.
