I live in the Estates of McKinney townhouse community. There is no other internet (AT&T, Verizon, etc) or satellite company for DirecTV that is an option to us, so we have to use Direcpath.

Service is substandard, to say the least. On June 6, my internet went down. When I called Direcpath, I was informed that they were performing work in my building. I called on June 7 and was informed they were still working on it. On June 8, the work order was closed. I was still down, but they would send the technician back out. However, I was told that a technician would not be available until June 28 to fix the problem that DirecPath had caused in the first place. I cancelled my internet that day. Fortunately Clear could provide 4G internet.

They kept billing me. The only reason I cancelled internet was because of the slow response. I telecommute, so I need internet 24/7. I've tried reaching corporate and so far have sent 3 letters explaining why I will not pay for June service. No response from corporate. On November 11 they disconnected my satellite, although I pay DirecTV and not DirecPath for service. I see no connection between my internet and satellite service.

Needless to say, they will be hearing from my legal counsel, and also reimbursing me for the days that I have been without satellite.

I guess when you are a monopoly in a community, you can do what you like, and can shaft the consumer at will.
