Cancelled valid I tunes gift card

An iTunes gift-card was bought at Bestbuy for Holiday of 2009. There's no termination time about the card. It wasn't utilized until lately and we were informed the card was unacceptable and terminated by Bestbuy. Bestbuy mentioned the cash was delivered towards the customer, but this isn't accurate.

I appeared on the web and study that lots of clients overdue to make use of their iTunes cards had exactly the same expertise & their cards were terminated by Bestbuy. Does Bestbuy possess a FRAUD happening here? Itunes knows the card was activated. Exactly what does Apple need to claim about Best Buys plan. Is Better Buy maintaining cash illegally by maintaining these resources? I really donot understand. However it sure seems bad in my experience.
