How can they spend so much on advertising and new customer discounts but nothing to retain customers

I've had a big change in my own revenue i named and requested to get a break-in programing price and was just provided more stations in a reduced fee, my objective was to get same programing at less expensive seeing I really could stop and change to meal and could be significantly cheaper, just after calling to stop was i provided a discount however i dropped a number of my stations all I acquired was less support for less cost, I've compensated them more than 8,000 bucks previously 10 years, just how can they invest so much on marketing and new client savings but nothing to keep clients, I'dnot suggest immediate television to my mother-in-law.
