A Huge Rip-Off - Orbitz.com

Orbitz charged me the hotel compensation fee, that's the fee that the hotel owes Orbitz for listing with them online, an additional $77. I will never use Orbitz again, if I had known about this fee I would have booked directly with the hotel. What sense does it make to have a third party book a hotel room for me if it isn't going to be cheaper?
