Arik Air Limited Money hungry leeching airline, Akkra (Ghana)

I needed to connect to an international flight from Owerri airport to the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria so I could catch a plane back to the good ole US of A. I used Arik Airline hoping that they would live up to their values and standards that they posted on their website of 'We act with integrity at all times ". I was proved wrong. When I arrived to check my luggage in I was harassed by two Arik employees saying that I must give them 9000 Nigerian dollars so that they could check in my luggage. They said it was company policy that anyone who had over 20 kilos (44pounds) of luggage must pay 450 naira (Nigeiran dolalrs) per extra kilograms. They said I had excess luggage. The two Arik employees put my luggage on the scale and said it weighed 60 kilos. I told them to let me see the scale.

They got verbal with me and told me to just pay the money. I was very upset and asked to speak the a supervisor.
