On 3/13/10 we were booked from JFK on Flt 173. We live in Connecticut, but choose JFK due to Jet Blue and our past experiences. The flight was due to leave 5:52pm. However the weather was bad and the flight was delayed until 9:30pm and canceled. That is understandable. This is where Jet Blue took a bad situation and created a nightmare.

1. An entire plane of people has their flight delayed for 4 hours and then canceled. The next flight leaving 3/14/10 is already booked full. Jet Blue should have added a flight for all the people of 173.

2. They are told they need to return 3/14/10 to retrieve their luggage. People should have been able to have their luggage that night. I left JFK and found a hotel to sleep in that night but didn’t have any clothes or toiletries.

3. After waiting in queue for an hour, I was able to book a flight (95) on Jet Blue 3/14/10 at 7:41pm. Most people were disconnected in queue or couldn’t get through.
4. I had rearranged my rental car to pickup at Oakland and return the rental as originally planned at SJC airport. The price increased from $200 to now $500 and was for 1 day less.

5. I returned 3/14/10 at 3pm to retrieve my luggage and recheck in for my new flight from JFK. Baggage claim services couldn’t locate my luggage. They asked me to look at 75 various templates of different shaped luggage and pick a number. Then they determined it was still on the plane going to SJC airport. The plane everyone from flight 173 that was canceled on 3/13/10. It now had everyone’s luggage from 3/13/10 and 3/14/10. That plane is delayed and still on the ground, but they won’t retrieve anyone’s luggage. The flight had already been fully booked. Everyone from 3/13/10 has luggage going to SJC without them being on the plane. Why would they have kept the luggage from 3/13/10 when no one could get on that flight 3/14/10? I was then told that I need to drive from OAK airport to SJC airport to retrieve my luggage that was still at JFK on a plane already fully booked (it gets better).
6. My flight 95 and my luggage’s flight was canceled 3/14/10 and I still can not get my luggage.
