Travel Advantage/motel 8.. Unauthorized charges against my account

I have had two unauthorized charges against my account as a result of making a reservation at a motel 8 two or three years ago. This is how they got my acct. No for my bank debit card.

I called when I found the first charge in Oct. I was hung up on. Recalled, got the name of the person I was talking to and finally they agreed to refund the money. And they did within days.

Then this month I find another charge - $20 more than the previous one. I called, the lady said she didn't have a record of making the charge, and I would have to mail or fax them my bank statement before they could do anything.

I called my bank to see if I could put a block on them. I can stop payment, but there is a $29 charge. Ans the bank said they must know it, because if they change the amount every time I have to pay the fee every time. My only recourse is to close the account and get another number. I am on my way to the bank now.
