WARNING: Watch out for ReservationsRewards and TravelValuePlus

I got caught in what I consider to be a travel scam. When I was on Priceline.com, I said ok to a supposedly free trial subscription and $10 rebate.instead, I ended up getting billed $7 per month for three months until I took note of the charge. It was only $7, so I assumed that it was something that my wife had purchased. The way that I got taken is that Priceline transferred my credit card information directly so that I was unaware that it had even happened. I feel that my trust was totally violated.

When I complained, they refunded the current charge but kept the rest of the money. While I feel rather dumb that this happened to me, I wanted to warn others lest they fall into this trap. When I complained to Priceline, they basically said too bad. That kind of surprised me, but I should have expected it since I have experienced a very reduced level of service from them. While their hotel service is ok, I have done vastly better with airline reservations by dealing directly with those airlines. Hell, I think that I can do better anywhere else because Priceline would not even let me pick my flight times. As a result, I have advised others not to use them, and I would offer the same advice to you.

Once again, it comes down to Buyer beware. This practice is apparently not limited to Priceline, so watch out. Please forward this post to everyone you know so that others will become aware of this potential danger to their economic well-being. I must end this post by saying that this is my opinion so that I don't end up being sued. I would add that it is a very strongly held opinion.
