They promised to return rental check, never did, & refused to ans phone or mail. Condo was not as advertised—had no bedroom as stated & was dirty. (condo) Or Vancouver (residence)

Sarah Campbell, owner of Campbells Cove, 205 Bolstad Ave. W #103, Long Beach, WA, and her husband/agent, Jim Zaleski (whose personal residence is located at 11306 NE 90th St., Vancouver, WA 98662); phones 503/369-0183 and 360/567-7841 and 360/665-3727, agreed to rent that vacation condo, sight unseen, to my friend and me for the we saw that the condo did not have a bedroom as he stated; it was merely one room. It also had hair and dust and lacked a toaster.

Jim knew we were unhappy and offered the return of our $220 rental money (2 nights' rent) if we left the keys under the door, which we did. The rent money was never returned; he answered the phone only one time afterwards when we called a week later and said he deserved to keep the rent because he could have rented it to someone else (untrue, because he had told us that he had no other renters coming until the following weekend). He never told us there was a cancellation penalty and in fact specifically told us he would return our check if we opted not to stay. Had we know he was going to renege on his word, we would have stayed the 2 nights & sucked it up, but in our naivete and trusting mode, we believe his lie and rented better lodging elsewhere for 2 nights & paid for that as well. Now he and Sarah refuse to accept our phone calls and refused to pick up the small claims court summons we sent to them.

We attempted to postpone the court date but would have had to stay another 3-4 wks in Washington State even though we were there only on vacation & normally live in Arizona. We filed complaints with the Long Beach Visitors Bureau and Better Business Bureau to no avail. Do not rent from this liar; you will either lose your money or be forced to stay in his dirty substandard condo.
