Promised I was one of only five grand prize winners and guarenteed I would take home one of those prizes if ripoff Connecticut

My 17 year old son received a phone call that he had won 2006 Cadillac Escalade. I told him it sounded to good to be true but we would follow up on it. When the awards claims people called back they wanted to know if my son was between the ages of 30 and 75 and he responded "no". They asked if anyone in the household was and he disclosed I was. Low and behold my name too appeared on the entry that had won (computer generated) over 18 months ago. Then they wanted to know if my income was at least $45K so that "IF" we had won the Cadillac we could pay the taxes of at least $1,900 or one of four other prizes including ten-day trip to Hawaii, $2,500 in cash, or a 32" flatscreen TV.

They continued to say this was time sensitive and that I had to collect my winnings within 48 hours at the Double Tree Hotel in Norwalk, CT and bring two forms of ID, a license and a check or a major credit card would suffice, and I was not able to bring anyone with me under any circumstance because space at the awards ceremony was extremely limited and I would need to set aside two hours. Two hours, I asked, why does it take so long and why don't they come to me, oh, and by the way who are "they"? Two hours was needed so the sponsor could make only ninety minute presentation, and again there was absolutely no purchase necessary in order to win. (I thought I already won.) In addition I had to make an appointment immediately to collect a scratch off ticket so how about that afternoon or next Tuesday or Thursday?

Well, if there were five of us why weren't we all meeting together for this ceremony and they said that this was the way the sponsors insisted on setting it up. So I set-up an appointment for Tuesday with the idea of calling our State Department of Consumer Protection and District Attorney's office or any other law enforement agency and see if they wanted to take my appointment, but have not heard back from any as of yet. Beware.
